| We
arrived at Bingemma
Gap which forms fart of the Dwejra Line, it lies
to the East of the Bingemma Fort, and an Infantry Line of approximately
1.5 Km adjoins them, from beyond a hill known as Nadur, and down into a
deep gorge, In 1895 work started on a continuous infantry line linking
three Forts on the Great Fault and the Dwejra Lines together. In most
places, this wall is only a couple of metres high but it still provided
protection to the defenders who could fire down on the ‘enemy' below
from their vantage point on top of the ridge. |
